Job description
Main Tasks and Responsibilities To provide clinical specialist input (at specialist level) to the critical care and surgical speciality To lead in the development of clinical pharmacy to support pre-assessment clinics and activities. To develop further roles for independent prescribing pharmacists in surgery and critical care. To lead pharmacy aspects of parental nutrition Act as a role model to pharmacists working in surgery and critical care specialties. Demonstrate expert knowledge in critical care and surgery and delivering a service in accordance with the priorities set by the Chief Pharmacist and the Trust agreed standards. These will include: Management of highly complex clinical pharmacy problems Making decisions with limited information and to ensure medicines prescribed for patients are optimised in terms of safety and efficacy Demonstrating an advanced level of clinical reasoning and judgement.
