As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering our service users to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. Your main responsibilities will include:
· Providing one-on-one support to individuals with a range of mental health conditions, including Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, and other Severe Mental Illnesses.
· Assisting individuals in their daily activities, promoting independence, and encouraging engagement in community-based initiatives.
· Collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary team to implement personalised care and support plans.
· Actively listening to service users, offering emotional support, and fostering a safe and non-judgmental environment.
· Monitoring and evaluating the progress of individuals, identifying any emerging needs or risks, and reporting these to your line manager using the companies agreed system.
· Advocating for the rights and wellbeing of our service users, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
· A genuine passion for mental health care and a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
· Previous experience in a mental health care setting, providing support to individuals with various mental health conditions.
· A good understanding of Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, and other Severe Mental Illnesses, along with the ability to adapt your approach to individual needs.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish meaningful relationships built on trust, respect, and empathy.
· The capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and other professionals to deliver person-centred care.
· Flexibility and resilience to navigate complex and challenging situations, while maintaining a calm and compassionate demeanour.
· A commitment to upholding the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
