Job description

At Leonardo, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Semiconductor Engineer.
You will carry out activities such as: production support; design for manufacture and new product introduction; process development and improvement activities. You will be able to demonstrate good technical knowledge and a practical "hands-on skill set" along with core engineering skills including data analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do as a Manufacturing Engineer:

•Solve day to day manufacturing problems and resolve production stops in a timely manner. 50/50 office /
cleanroom environment.
•Update documentation and train manufacturing staff in new techniques.
•Monitor performance of manufacturing cells by using production data such as yield, cycle time, touch time and
process capability metrics and use that data to target improvement activity.
•Report and communicate to all levels of the organisation in an appropriate manner.
•Identify, plan and implement innovative process improvements using a data based approach to justify changes.
•Improve the efficiency of manufacturing cells by utilising lean manufacturing and six sigma techniques.
•Ensure work complies with the Quality Management System, and regulatory and legal requirements.
• Acquisition of new equipment, specification writing and qualification planning and implementation.

W hat we need from you:

Engineer with experience of semiconductor manufacturing such as: thin film deposition (sputter & evaporation),
ion beam milling, photolithography, wire bonding, and flip chip bump bonding.
•Technical background –physics/chemistry/manufacturingrelated subject. Degree or equivalent relevant
experience.
•Lean manufacturing and six-sigma techniques, pFMEA, SPC, failure analysis, root cause analysis.
•Good skills with Microsoft Office, familiar with Minitab or similar statistical analysis and ERP system such as SAP
Customer focus.
•Manual dexterity handling wafers and small piece parts.
•Comfortable using microscopes.
•Adaptable and comfortable in a dynamic and changing environment
• Experience of KnS auto wirebonders and Suss Microtech spin coaters and developers an advantage.
