The Technical Planning Engineers e nsure that all workpacks created are in accordance with appropriate legislation, Authority and Operator requirements and that optimal planning and input to pre-engineering within maintenance capacity is achieved, in conjunction with all stakeholders.
- Manage ‘pre-input’ process, including but not limited to organisation of ‘pre-input’ meetings as required with relevant stakeholder(s).
- Run daily status meeting in conjunction with Customer Support Manager and Aircraft Manager.
- Create project plans for maintenance inputs which identify key sequences, milestones and critical path tasks.
- Ensure that project timelines are updated to accurately reflect on-check progress and skill type forecasts for each input.
- Ensure all requirements are identified and pre-loaded/ordered including Maintenance Data/Spares/Tooling.
- Ensure that ‘job-cards’ are effectively sequenced daily to meet delivery targets and that they are staged appropriately for complex tasks.
- Ensure accurate manhour targets are updated in the templates and work packs to reflect changes in performance/working practices/maintenance requirements.
- Continually review systems and procedures to improve aircraft downtimes.
- Liaise with 3rd party contract companies including but not limited to Part 21 and working groups in conjunction with aircraft input, and also OEMs as appropriate to agree technical solutions.
- Be a focal point for Technical Support for allocated aircraft in work including repairs, mods, queries, tooling and specialist information.
- Assist with technical aspects of VAM quotations as required and directed.
- Carry out any other reasonable task in line with the role as requested by the Technical Services Manager.
- Educated to a minimum of ‘A’ level standard or equivalent.
- Previous demonstratable experience working in an aircraft maintenance, production planning or airline environment.
- Technical Support experience in aviation and able to evidence knowledge of airworthiness regulations (EASA).
- Able to demonstrate product knowledge of the Bombardier Series aircraft.
- Able to show the ability to make a technical assessment and decision with consideration to recognised standards using engineering knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
- Able to understand technical drawings, and to understand and write technical text.
- Able to demonstrate diligence with a high attention to detail.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Willing and able to perform as part of a team in order to achieve delivery targets.
