Due to an increased demand for nursery places, we are actively seeking an experienced early years practitioner to join our Mulberry Team as Toddler Room Leader.
The ideal candidate must be dedicated, driven and passionate about caring for children, and creating ‘awe and wonder’ through play and learning. We aim to deliver the highest standard of nursery care and education, in our busy and stimulating environment.
Our ethos has a strong emphasis surrounding “caring for children as if they are an extension of our family”, and our curriculum is centred around this approach. The Ideal candidate must be passionate about leading a team, combined with preparing children and their families to take their next steps towards education.
The position can be flexible, and will be required to work across all age ranges at times. Our opening hours are 7.30am – 6.00pm, candidates will work shifts between these hours.
Duties
- Collaborate with nursery management team on a daily basis, to support the smooth and effective running of the nursery
- Lead and supervise a team of nursery practitioners
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the nursery
- Maintain a clean and organized environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and provide regular updates on their child's progress
- Collaborate with other nursery room leaders and practitioners, to ensure consistency with following policies and procedures surrounding in care and routines
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and inventory management
Qualifications and Role Requirements
- Level 3 or above Qualification in Early Years
- Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements
- Observation, Assessment & Planning knowledge is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Paediatric First Aid certification preferred
- Strong knowledge surrounding safeguarding and child protection
