Job description

Our client, a leading specialty chemicals business, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Regulatory Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the progression of all regulatory compliance requirements associated with a variety of business processes. The job will include daily interaction with both customers, and departments who operate outside of the Technical laboratories.

The Role

 

The Regulatory Officer will be responsible for the administration and progression of all regulatory compliance requirements associated with the business processes through the Company. The job will include daily interaction with both customers, and FCS departments who operate outside of the Technical laboratories. Strong organisational and communication skills are therefore an essential part of the skillset required of this role, along with the ability to ensure progress is being made with all regulatory compliance activities.

 

Administrative activities / logging of casework

To act as a central point for receiving casework from customers and internal staff, logging and progressing this on a central register.

Co-ordination of casework Using initiative to refer casework/enquires to other teams/personnel for advice, especially regarding work that requires escalation.

Chemical Safety Systems To register all new Raw Materials for COSHH risk assessment as samples are requested, co-ordinating the receipt of chemical safety information and arranging the registration of correct information into the PV formulation database.

Control of Formulations To validate formulations being raised for customer sample or manufacturing activity, generating accurate chemical hazard classifications, labels and SDS.

Compliance information requests Progressing and logging of customer requests for compliance information such as EU Poison Centre reporting, REACH, RoHS, IMDS, PPAP etc.

Chemical Regulatory Monitoring of EU, UK and global regulatory activity. Working with the Technology Services Manager to develop action plans to respond to developing requirements of legislation.

Updating of departmental statistics To co-ordinate with team members in order to produce monthly graphical based statistics for all aspects of Compliance management.

Support of QA activities To support the QA department with tasks such as PPAP – as agreed with the Technology Services Manager.

 

Experience Required

 

The successful candidate will have a background in chemistry, preferably at degree level.

Experience of administration roles within a manufacturing company.

Good knowledge of the structure and operations of an automotive paint company.

Knowledge of basic coatings technology.

The job holder will be able to use MS office including outlook, work and excel.
