Job description
As the Estates Compliance Officer, you will be ensuring that Hestercombe House operates as it should, by being an efficient advocate of the importance of compliance in a heritage-building environment. You will help the property team to meet their goals by keeping standards high.
The role also includes assisting with maintenance and repairs (reactive, as well as planned and preventative), some cleaning and caretaking during busy periods and events, and ensuring the presentation of public areas and visitor facilities are kept as tidy as possible. Having an eye for detail and an awareness of visitor expectations would also be an advantage.
Duties:
Opening / closing the site and managing the security alarms
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the day in liaison with our cleaning contractor
Assist the Estates Manager with daily maintenance and compliance checks including but not limited to fire alarm testing, HVAC maintenance, electrical, gas, water systems
Work closely with internal service teams and external contractors
Undertake general building maintenance duties including plumbing, carpentry and painting
Complete suitable risk assessments prior to undertaking work and complete the appropriate documentation in full
Record and report any risk, loss or defect to the Estates Manager for corrective action
Oversee energy usage and conservation and understand Hestercombe’s environmental responsibilities
Be aware of budget management and ensuring the most effective and efficient solutions
Part-time and full-time posts will be considered
Expected hours: 22.5 – 37.5 per week
£18,500 (pro rata)
