Job description

Robert Half are excited to be working with a well established firm to recruit an Accounts Assistant position, based full-time in office , in Monmouth.

They are offering a very competitive: base salary up to £35K + study package + growth opportunities + flexi start/ finish times + onsite parking.

The Accountant is responsible for assisting the Head of Finance in the efficient operation of the companies finances.

Main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Bank and cash reconciliations for the School and the Trading Company
• To include assistance in cashflow management and the management of the Group's pre-paid cards
• Departmental Budget Monitoring and Reporting
• To include academic and support cost centres and house funds and The preparation of ad hoc reports and analyses
• General ledger reconciliations, Inter-company cross charging and control account administration
• To include income stream reconciliation
• Trading Company
• To provide cover and assistance with the day-to-day accounting requirements for the Trading Company

Additional duties include:

• Assisting the Accountant in the administration of all aspects of the Group's day to day accounting and payroll responsibilities
• Provide general support and cover for other posts in the Finance Team
• Liaise with other departments in the schools to ensure completeness and correctness of all information and activities
• Deal with incoming and outgoing communications by telephone, email, or post and handle requests for assistance from visitors, staff, and pupils in a helpful and friendly manner
• Carry out such general administration duties as specified by the Head of Finance and/or the Financial Accountant
• You may be required to undertake such other duties as the School may reasonably require from time to time

Essential

• Minimum Maths and English at GCSE/O Level, grade B or equivalent
• A recognised qualification in accounting at minimum AAT level 4 or equivalent
