Job description
Key tasks:
- Meeting with thechild(ren) at the start of each day to set expectations
- Delivering theprovisions detailed on the child's support plan/EHCP, as required
- Supporting thechild(ren) inside /outside class to build positive relationships
- Motivating thechild(ren) through identifying what drives them to succeed
- Managingchallenging incidents inside/outside the classroom
- Developing andmaintaining a purposeful environment where the child can work in a quiet spaceas and when required
- Liaising withoutside agencies to support the child(ren)'s individual needs appropriately
- Having regularcommunication with parents to provide feedback as directed by the teacher
- Having regularcommunication with relevant staff to provide feedback
- Liaise closelywith the class teacher
- Tracking thechild(ren)'s progress with evidence, as directed by the teacher
- Creatingtasks/projects that meet curriculum requirements and engage the child(ren)
- Having strongorganisational and administrative skills
- Doing lunch coveras required supporting whole cohorts or individual children
Ideal candidate:
- Able to build positive relationships withchildren, parents and staff quickly
- Have a calm and nurturing nature
- Have experience of supporting children with challengingbehaviour
- Have experience of working as a teachingassistant
- Be highly motivated
- Be creative and inspirational in the deliveryof the curriculum to the child(ren)
- Lead by example being an exceptional rolemodel to our children
