We are looking for someone like you. We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to be based at our site in Wellingborough. As part of a team of 3 supervisors in a busy transport and returns operation, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch / debrief of drivers and delivery partners on a 13:00 to 22:00 shift. You will be responsible for managing a small team and will deputies for the central planner.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re are to offering a salary of £35,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, as well as the option to buy additional days. There may be overtime opportunities which will be paid 1.5 times your hourly rate.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• You will report to the lead supervisor and support your colleagues with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations during your shift with a huge emphasis on safety.
• You will deputies for the central route planner.
• Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource available at site and keeping customers updated
• Ensure all process and procedures are followed and that we operate a safe and efficient environment
• Manage a team of consisting of a central route planner and transport / warehouse team members.
• Ensure the operation is managed accurately and KPI’s are maintained.
• Ensure all staff are always trained and following company procedures.
• Ensure all problems are resolved and communicated in a timely manner.
• Ensure Fleet management is followed and any fleet issues are reported and resolved.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• It’s important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment – no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet
• Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a complex transport / warehouse environment using transport management systems.
• Proven experience within transport and a good understanding of fleet compliance and driver hours
• Computer literate as will as answering emails, completing reports, and using various industry systems ie. Tacho master, Sharp
• Maintaining Team ethics and morale building.
• Experience in a fast-paced, time critical environment.
• Understanding and previous experience with Paragon planning systems

• Previous planning experience would be beneficial
