Recra are working in partnership with a well established manufacturer who operate in a very niche market and are the market leader in the UK.
Our client are looking to add a Quality Engineer to their team in Coventry who will report to the SHEQ Manager.
Main Purpose: As their Quality Engineer, you will utilise your knowledge in engineering and quality management to implement, maintain and develop the Company Quality Management System to suit the needs of the business and to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 across all sites.
Roles & Responsibilities: - You will be a team player that enjoys collaborating with and motivating colleagues to achieve results. You will be part of continuous improvement activities but also be able to be self-motivated to improve process performance and achieve objectives. You will be encouraged to learn new skills and be prepared to carry out additional duties as and when required. You are responsible for implementing and improving the clients' system to suit the needs of the business and to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 across all areas of the company.
- You will manage non-conformance concerns, both internal and external, working with the relevant areas to investigate root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions to build a culture of continuous improvement, generate and maintain NCR documentation.
- Conduct internal audits to agreed schedules and maintain all relevant documentation. Support external audits to attain the relevant ISO accreditation. Calibrate inspection equipment identified on the Calibration Register and manage items required to be externally calibrated. Issue all new inspection equipment with a unique identification number.
- Maintain documentation relating to the calibration process.
- Perform inspection roles as and when required within the manufacturing areas ensuring all Route Cards are correct and signed.
- Support and deputise for the SHEQ Manager on quality matters as and when required.
- When necessary, you will assist with the co-ordinating and organisation of any identified training requirements.
Skills:
- Able to calibrate Inspection Equipment such as Micrometers, Plug Gauges, Digital Verniers etc.
- Hold the relevant qualifications to conduct quality audits to ISO 9001:2015 standard.
- Must be familiar with reading engineering drawings.
- Proven record in the non-conformance process.
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis and devise suitable preventive action plans.
- Use of Microsoft 365 office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally. Must be organised with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience of working with and implementing Polices & Procedures.
