Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving, diverse, co-educational independent day school on the outskirts of Bristol. We are looking for a motivated and highly capable Admissions Coordinator to join our team. This post is offered from the Autumn Term 2024.

The successful candidate will have excellent time management and organisation skills, and will be able to communicate effectively and professionally with pupils, staff and parents. The Admissions Coordinator will assist the Admissions Manager in responding to parental enquires by phone, in writing and in person. The role will require a good level of administrative experience to ensure precise record keeping and clear communications. The holder will be responsible for planning visits and taster days for prospective families and they will be expected to attend open days, entrance assessments and scholarship events. 

A key part of the role involves covering the Senior School reception between the hours of 7.30am and 9am Monday to Friday. As the ‘face’ of the school the successful candidate will be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner.

Hours/Salary:

The hours for this role will be 28 hours per week Monday to Friday, with two days 7.30am to 12.30pm and three days 7.30am to 2pm, including half an hour unpaid lunch break on the three longer days. The role is term time (35 weeks including INSET), plus 2 additional weeks worked flexibly during the school holidays. The hours will include two Saturdays and two evenings to assist with entrance exams and open days.

You will receive a pro-rata salary of £15,904 per annum (£26,000 FTE salary), depending on skills, experience and qualifications. This includes paid holiday based on 25 days per year plus 8 bank holidays pro-rata. Staff benefits include free lunches during term time, free on-site parking and use of the school’s sports facilities.

Collegiate School occupies a glorious thirty-acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site. We are easily accessible from the motorway network, with approximately 800 students aged from 3 to 18.

In our recent ISI report the school was judged excellent in all areas; raw examination results are consistently good, value-add scores are high and we have waiting lists in most year groups.
