iRecruit are currenlty looking for a high quality Maintenance Supervisor for a well known Rotherham based, Engineering company who are making great strides in the coming years.

Main Job Purpose

To manage the day to day running of the Maintenance business to ensure an efficient and effective equipment manufacture, installation and support service for all production plant and equipment.  To optimise operational performance through proactive / reactive maintenance techniques and through effective management of all Maintenance personnel ensuring that safety is secured through the adoption of safe working practices and the provision of safe plant and equipment.

Principal Accountabilities

Safeguard the health and safety of all Maintenance personnel

Safeguard the integrity and safety of all plant and equipment associated with manufacturing operations

Support and maintain the Maintenance Quality Management System (including IMS)

Support the Kostal UK drive towards continual improvement

Ensure utilisation of CMMS to improve the integrity and relevance of data to allow an informed management decision making process.

Promote Maintenance as a champion of Service Excellence

Propose and justify the provision of resource and equipment for the department

Manage the resources and workload in order to meet the departmental operational objectives.

Optimise operational performance through the provision and management of an effective preventative and reactive breakdown service.

Management of Service Contracts to satisfy the requirement for specialist maintenance activities in order to support the business.

Develop the capability of individuals and the team in order to effectively discharge operational objectives.

Manage resource in line with company policy ensuring that all company policies are constantly adhered to.

Stay abreast of best relevant technologies and ensure they are used where possible.

Ensure that interfaces between the Maintenance Department and other functions (both inside and outside KOB) are effective. Also ensuring that these are fully integrated to reflect cross functional boundaries and respected by company personnel

To ensure all Maintenance staff are kept informed through the provision of effective and regular communication.

Education & Experience

• Formal craft apprenticeship with engineering qualification at ONC / HNC (or equivalent) and minimum of 7 years electrical/electronic/mechanical experience in high volume technically sophisticated manufacturing ideally within the automotive sector (essential).

• Two years experience in a supervisory capacity (desirable).

• Possession of NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (desirable).

• Must be able to demonstrate a high level of computer / PLC literacy (essential).

• Should be able to demonstrate a range of skills including task orientation, team working, communication, planning, problem solving, financial and commercial awareness (desirable).

• Must be computer literate (essential).
