Job description
Brewpoint is a brand new 30000 hl/annum state of the art brewery with bar, restaurant and visitors centre on the edge of Bedford.
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our team based at our Warehouse in South Bedford. The role will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant warehouse, picking, forklift operations, loading collections, unloading deliveries, and recording data into Navision with accuracy.
The Warehouse Operative will play a crucial role in ensuring product is with our customers in full and on time and support the Logistics & Warehouse Lead with administrative tasks as required.
You will be expected to build strong working relationships with other members in the Beer Team to understand the business needs and contribute to helping the team function more positively towards those needs.
YOU WILL NEED TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT AS THIS ROLE INVOLVES BEING ON YOUR FEET ALL DAY AND HEAVY LIFTING.
Key Responsibilities:
Aside from the day-to-day routine there will be many other duties to get involved with making this a varied and exciting role:
- Work in line with Standard Operations Procedures and Risk Assessments, becoming fully trained in all warehouse operations and administration task
- Achieve Supply & Warehouse Key Performance Indicators with a focus on Health & Safety Checks completion and >98% Perfect Delivery Index
- Conduct Forklift Checks daily, reporting any faults to Logistics & Warehouse Lead
- Conduct daily and weekly picking, delivery and collection activities based on Transport and Loading Plan
- Check delivery or collection paperwork matches goods being unloaded or loaded
- Maintain a safe environment for all stakeholder escalating safety concerns to Logistics & Warehouse Lead
- Ensure daily Health & Safety walks are complete in Alert65
- Understand & comply with warehouse risk assessments
- Carry our daily temperature and pest control checks
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and tidiness in line with 5S and Standard Works
- Identify opportunities to remove non-value adding activities, work with Logistics & Warehouse Lead on implementation of savings
What we are looking for:
- A forklift and driving license are essential
- Proven experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and warehouse processes
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Knowledge of 5S principles and Standard Work procedures
- Familiarity with inventory management and stock control
- A flexible work ethic! You will be required to work shifts and working hours will change subject to schedules
