Position: National Account Manager
Department: Commercial
Report To: National Account Controller
Location: Head Office, Christchurch (Flexibility to work from home)
Purpose of the role
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in FMCG and account management (ideally own label), with strong negotiation and communication skills. We are looking for someone who is highly organised and able to manage our biggest account and projects simultaneously.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with key Grocery retail accounts
- Analysis of customer sales data to drive insight and recommendations to back the account plan
- Robust plan to manage the sales and profitability of assigned accounts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
- Lead internal forums to gain engagement for your customer on longer term plans and innovation pipeline to win with the customer
- Management of JBP or terms detailing specific objectives – strategies and tactics to deliver the defined business objectives
- Working across the supply base to take cost out without impacting on availability and quality
- Understand customer KPIs, targets and review performance, with knowledge and proposals to reach category standards
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of working as an Account Manager
- Consistent track record of problem-solving as an owner taking on entrepreneurial challenges and simplifying the complex
- Commercial and financial awareness are required along with the judgement and skill to identify- negate and take commercial decisions- often under pressure
- Retail/FMCG experience essential, ideally top 6 grocers
- Highly organised individual with good planning skills and the ability to lead projects across different categories both internal and external via different departmental functions
- Experience in Critical Path Management
- Resource planning & Allocation
- Project Risk Assessment
- Microsoft Office proficient, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
