Your Role

We are looking for string tutors/group leaders to work with our orchestral string groups at Stockport Music Service from 19 April 2024.

The work will involve supporting and potentially conducting our string ensembles at the music centre.  In addition to the string ensembles, there may be opportunities for additional teaching outside of these hours and string workshops in schools during a Friday afternoon for the right candidate, which would make the post approx. 5-6 hours per week.

About You

The successful applicants will be enthusiastic music educators who can work flexibly with different age ranges and abilities.  You will be working with complete beginners through to students preparing for high level ABRSM and Trinity examinations so must have a good technical knowledge of the demands made on your instruments/voice and the ability to communicate this to your pupils alongside the general musical knowledge required.

You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated with the ability to engage young people and communicate your love of music.  Although this is a casual contract in the first instance, there may be opportunities for further work for the right candidates.

Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not qualify
