The Candidate: Senior people professional with experience across all facets of HR. Previous experience of building effective relationships with senior stakeholders. Proven experience of thinking strategically and analysing issues to identify and implement creative solutions. Credible and confident, possessing the presence as well as the depth of HR experience to inspire and drive change. Knowledge of pay and rewards systems, and job evaluation. Experience of successfully championing change to promote equality, diversity and inclusion. Key Responsibilities Human Resources & Organisational Development HR Provide broad-based functional advice and support throughout the organisation, including: Organisational change, Performance management, training, learning and development, Staff support and benefits, Recruitment, assessment and selection, Employee relations, employee voice and internal communications, Employment law, best practice, disciplinary and grievance procedures. Lead on the development and delivery of all HR policies and procedures to support the organisations ongoing development and enable it to meet its objectives. Ensure that the organisation keeps up to date with, and is compliant in, all aspects of employment legislation and statutory requirements: interpret and apply employment law, fulfil the duties of lead counter signatory for Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) purposes and manage all staff related disciplinary and grievance procedures. Manage and develop the HR team; ensure best practice in all aspects of the HR&OD functions and compliance with the relevant internal and external standards. In conjunction with other Executive Team colleagues, lead specific recruitment and retention initiatives that support strategic priorities (e.g. nurse recruitment). Ensure that Self Service Database (Wilber) personnel records, training plans and development records are held and maintained for all staff and to ensure the computerised training system is fully utilised for analysis and reporting processes; to provide monthly reports. Report quarterly to trustee subcommittees; preparing governance reports, providing analysis and action plans to support trustee decision.L&D Lead on the development and delivery of Trinitys staff development plans in conjunction with the Executive Team. Responsible for the organisational training programme (not including job specific clinical education e.g. inpatient clinical education programme) co-ordinating and reporting on all mandatory, professional and development based learning activities for all staff. Design and deliver internal training programmes including reviewing the organisational induction programme and modular based programmes to enhance people management and leadership skills.OD Design and deliver annual staff survey, ensuring any follow-up actions are owned by the Executive Team and delivered in a timely and transparent fashion. Ensure that Trinity promotes and welcomes equality, diversity and inclusion in all parts of the organisation and in all services, and actively seeks to develop and deliver policies and procedures which promote equity and equality of opportunity. Lead the programme to strengthen FREDIE (Fairness Respect Equality Diversity Inclusion and Engagement) across the organisation, delivering on action plans, and maintaining relevant external accreditations as appropriate (e.g., Disability Committed, National Centre for Diversity etc). Lead on the programme to support staff wellness. Lead on programmes to further enhance organisational communication and consultation, working with the Associate Director of Communications & Engagement to develop innovative and engaging internal communications.Volunteers Develop and enrich our volunteer experience, enabling us to attract and retain a diverse group of volunteers. Ensure Trinitys volunteer policies and procedures are in line with sector best practice. Maintain Investors in Volunteering accreditation. Support the further development of a proactive volunteer programme, identifying areas of the organisation where volunteers can add value to service delivery and organisational functioning.Governance Maintain and update the HR & OD risk register and Board Assurance Framework as part of the corporate risk register. Be the Information Asset Owner for the HR & OD department and ensure the HR & OD department comply with all data protection and information governance requirements. Play an active role on key organisational governance groups as chair of the People Committee and as the lead executive facilitating the Boards People & Culture sub-committee. Ensure adequate business continuity plans are in place in line with Trinitys major incident plan and policy, and that all HR & OD functions are covered on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for the management and oversight of the HR system.Organisational & Departmental Leadership As a member of the Executive Team, promote at all levels within the department and organisation, Trinitys vision, values and strategic objectives. Develop and implement the HR departments strategic objectives, as part of Trinitys business planning process. Act as a role model and leader for direct reports; supporting and guiding their development and enhancing their leadership/managerial skills. Provide regular feedback to direct reports, including annual appraisal and personal development plans. Proactively manage good and poor performance, and address grievance/disciplinary issues in a timely way in line with organisational policy. As an Executive Team member, be an ambassador for the organisation, taking an active role in promoting Trinity at external or fundraising events as required. Professional development Keep abreast of statutory and sectoral changes and developments in HR & OD and employment law. Ensure ongoing personal professional development to ensure Trinitys HR & OD function operates in line with sector best practice.General To deputise for the CEO as required. To provide on call management cover as required
