1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant - Primary School
About Us: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a team at a primary school, a vibrant and inclusive primary school. 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant Role Overview: As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with an individual student with special educational needs, providing personalised support to facilitate their learning and development. You will be responsible for implementing strategies outlined in the student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant Key Responsibilities: - Provide 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to a specific student with special educational needs, assisting them with academic tasks, social interactions, and personal development.
- Implement strategies outlined in the student's EHCP, including accommodations, modifications, and specialized interventions.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to develop and implement individualized learning plans and behavioral support strategies.
- Monitor the student's progress and provide regular feedback to the SENCO and other relevant stakeholders.
- Foster a positive and nurturing relationship with the student, promoting their confidence, independence, and well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and observations, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant Requirements: - Previous experience as a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
- Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt support strategies to meet the individual needs of the student.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with special needs.
- Relevant qualifications in education, SEN support, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
