Change Grow Live are a national charity that also delivers services across East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton and Hove . The East Sussex Domestic Abuse service provides a high-quality frontline service to women and men who are experiencing or have recently experienced domestic abuse and violence. The focus is on risk assessment, safety planning and support for victims of domestic violence and abuse across East Sussex, through the civil and criminal justice system and beyond.

 

The approach is within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnerships to deliver an inclusive and comprehensive service. Applicants must have demonstrable experience and knowledge of safeguarding as well as management and leadership.

 

The Team Leader will support the Service Manager, to lead the delivery and development of new fixed term services and will lead and support staff across East Sussex to deliver the service model and variations to contract requirements as well as support the development of new service strands ensuring that they are aligned to local priorities, national standards, and key performance indicators.

 

As directed by your service or line-manager, you will provide clear role modelling and leadership for your team to ensure an effective and safe service provision for service users. You will support the delivery of high-quality service provision by:

• Creating an ambitious service user focussed culture.
• Engaging staff to provide a continually improving and innovative service.
• Providing leadership, line management, support, and development to a diverse team of staff.
• Support the development of the service, including learning, new legislation, auditing, and professional accreditation processes i.e. Leading Lights.

 

This role has specifically been created to support and lead with the development of new posts and short term contracts.

Currently we have the following short term contracts that require increased line management provision within the service.

 

Housing IDVA for 3 x staff

Male Worker post x 1 staff

Fixed Term DA case worker posts 2 x staff

Funding is dynamic with opportunities for further posts to be developed.

 

All front line staff receive, line, case management and external clinical supervision.

 

Team Leader: Full time Fixed Term Post to 31 st March 2025 (37.5hrs)

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £34,700.09 - £36,635.38 (CGL Scale 31-33) Dependent on experience, Pro rata

About the role:  

• Operational line management of a team of staff which includes supervision (with reflective practice), appraisal, performance and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external policies applicable to their roles  
• Empowering staff to promote hope, empowerment, choices, control, and opportunities that assist service users reaching their full potential as individuals and community members  
• Work with your team and Designated Safeguarding Lead (if not your role) to ensure that the practices within the team/service enable identification of service users, children and families who are at risk. Ensure that staff are competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk to service users  
• Support staff to improve service user outcomes through observed practice, providing timely values-based feedback  
• Lead on the recruitment, selection and induction of staff  

 

About you:  

• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience of developing and leading health and social care services and delivering services which evidence high performance and quality standards.
• Significant experience of leading teams who work with families where children are subject to social care intervention.
• Knowledge of current legislation surrounding children, young people, and safeguarding practice.
• Able to lead, inspire and develop a team.  
•   Demonstrable line management, service implementation and development experience
• A solid knowledge of Domestic Abuse, including the changes to DA Act 2021.
• Be willing to undertake training for professional development.
• Have an excellent understanding and demonstrable professional experience of Safeguarding.
• Have a knowledge of both statutory and non-statutory services
• Ability to support with the delivery of training or external public and professional facing events.
