Job description
From August 2024, we are looking for a qualified and committed English-speaking Science teacher with a strength in Biology for our bilingual Secondary School. Knowledge of the IGCSE Combined Sciences syllabus and the IB DP Biology curriculum would be a distinct advantage.
You have
- a teaching qualification for Science at Secondary School level
- substantial teaching experience in Grades 5 to 12
- the ability to teach Biology at Higher Level to talented students in Grades 11 and 12
- experience with linguistically heterogeneous learning groups
- English language skills at native-speaker level
- good knowledge of German or a willingness to learn the language
- strong IT skills for effective use of our modern learning environment
- personal qualities that motivate and inspire the students
- open-mindedness, flexibility and the ability to work well in a team
- a high level of commitment
Your area of responsibility
- Teaching the three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) in a combined syllabus to students in Grades 5 to 10
- Teaching Biology (and another Science, if desired) in the IB Diploma Programme at Standard and Higher Level.
- Focusing on student learning and development, extending and supporting as required in order to help students to reach their potential
- Working closely with other members of the Science department and other teaching staff
- Communicating with parents and guardians
