Peer Support Worker

​What We Offer
​Part Time 26.25 hours per week – working on a two-week rota.
​10.30am – 6.30pm - Week 1 (Tue, Wed, Thu) | Week 2 (Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun)

​Salary £20,918.18 per annum increasing to £21,405 per annum after completion of 6-month probation period. (Salary quoted is for full time hours, salary will be pro rata for part time hours)

​​Location: REST Aylsham Hub - NR11 6LW
​Although your main base will be at the REST Aylsham Hub, you may be required to work from other sites as and when needed. Therefore, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.

​The Role
​REST is an acronym for Recover, Eat, Support, Talk. REST Hubs offer a safe space where individuals can feel confident and comfortable talking about their mental health needs. All REST Hubs are designed and laid out as a Psychological Information Environment while adopting a non-clinical approach. We strive to ensure we provide a person-centred support to service users whilst under our duty of care, providing a brief intervention, emotional support and service navigational assistance for people experiencing Mental Health difficulties.

​We work closely with various partners to ensure individuals in community have the support they need to thrive, grow, recover and excel. ​What We Are Looking For
​As a Peer Support Worker, you will provide support and insight for people using the REST Aylsham Hub by drawing on personal experience of recovery and resilience. Peer support workers model recovery and wellness to foster a sense of hope in those accessing our Hub so the future feels positive and life holds a sense of purpose.

​You will work closely with the Recovery Workers and other staff to deliver group & one to one intervention that develop understanding around recovery and independent living. You will encourage and empower those accessing our service to take control of their recovery and to give them hope of recovery by providing insight, support and help identify strategies that keep them well.

​We are looking for candidates who has;

• Experience of working with a diverse group of people.

• A passion for supporting others who may present in a variety of ways.

• Experience of working within a recovery focused organisation.

• Experience of creating positive working relationships with people in a professional setting.

• Experience of liaising with a variety of support services including police and ambulance teams.

• Essential - Lived experience with your own mental health recovery journey.

​Interview Process
​If you are shortlisted and invited for interview, the interviews will consist of a two-stage process. 1st​ stage interview will be a warner interview, if you are successful a 2nd stage interview will take place.
