Overview
A prestigious not-for-profit organisation based in Kings Cross are looking for someone with a proven track record in business development to join as a Sales Manager.
Salary: £31,000 – £36,000
The Role
- Create new, and maintain existing, relationships with local authorities to increase sales of the charity’s educational resources.
- Create opportunities for the charity to meet with head teachers, education leads and other decision-makers in primary schools to sell flagship products
- Develop relationships with secondary school leads in order to sell in secondary school products and resources
- Actively seek partnerships with publishers or other relevant businesses to sell educational resources
- Design and implement a strategic sales plan to expand customer base and grow sales of products and publications
- Set and achieve growth, sales, and targets by successfully motivating and managing the sales and marketing team
- Achieve, or exceed, sales targets as set out in Business Plan
- Ensure monthly sales and marketing reports are produced on time and include analysis for further development, and expansion of new products and results
- Present reports to Senior Management Team on a monthly basis
- Set and meet targets for expanding customer relationship management (CRM) database
- Ensure stock levels are maintained working with Publications team to ensure this
- Ensure excellent standards of customer service, with any complaints resolved promptly
- Manage relationships with distributors, suppliers and printers as appropriate
- Work closely with the training department to ensure sales of training services attain their targets, and cross–selling opportunities are maximised
Key Skills/Experience
- Demonstrable sales experience with targets met and exceeded, preferably in the education and/or health environment
- Experience of developing and implementing successful sales plans
- Experience of building business-to-business (B2B) relations
- Experience of CRM, preferably Salesforce
- Experience of project managemenGood knowledge of education environment, in particular selling to schools
- Good knowledge of effective sales techniques
- Good knowledge of marketing including digital marketing
- Good working knowledge of using social media for marketing
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Packages
- Excellent communicator, both verbally and written
- Personable and motivating communicator, with ability to build relationships
- Self-starter and driven to meet and exceed targets
- Ability to analyse data and produce reports
- Ability to motivate a small team
