Mechanical Design Engineer

Commutable from Huntingdon, Kimbolton, Biggleswade, Cambridge,

£34,000 to £36,000 DOE + Early Finish on Friday + Training + Life Assurance + Free Parking

An excellent opportunity for experienced Design Engineer looking to join a rapidly expanding business that invest heavily in their staff with training and development.

Established over 40 years ago, this market leading manufacturing company are known in their industry for providing highest quality of products. Due to continuously expanding workload, they now require a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

Within this role you will play a major part in the success of both the projects and the company as a whole. You will be directly involved in projects from concept through into production.

This role would ideally suit an experienced project or design engineer looking for a hands on role working within a precision engineering business.

The Role:

• Working within a small team but liaising across the wider company including production, quality and shipping to work on projects through from design to completion. Responsibilities include but not limited to leading DFMEA and design for manufacture activities, define and manage design validation activities, create and develop 2D & 3D models/drawings, appropriate CAE tools in an analysis led design approach
• 40hrs a week, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am - 2pm
• 32 days holiday inc BH, Critical Illness and medical cash back plan, Death in Service cover, On-site Gym facility, Free on-site parking

The Person:

• Degree education / Time served
• Automotive background
• Experience of IS09001 / TS 16949 standards
• 3D CAD - Autodesk Inventor beneficial
