Primary Class Teacher

St Andrews International School Bangkok (Primary)

Location

Thailand | United Kingdom

Job description

"Our mission is to provide an inclusive, international education in a safe, happy, supportive and stimulating environment where all the needs of the individual learner are met. Students are inspired to be the best they can be, enabling them to become responsible global citizens."

Primary Class Teacher

St Andrews has a thriving Primary School which incorporates the best practices of the English National Curriculum, in creating a thematic approach where learning is integrated into child-centred activities and ensures high levels of interest, enthusiasm and motivation on the children’s part.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about designing and delivering a curriculum that recognises that each child has different needs and preferences and tailoring their approach to suit the individual, whilst maintaining high expectations. Our teachers are mindful of multiple intelligences, emotional intelligence and multi-sensory teaching methods in order to plan, deliver and assess the curriculum. This ensures a stimulating learning environment in which all children have the opportunity to succeed. There is also a careful balance between academic, creative and physical activities that ensures our curriculum develops the whole child.

At St Andrews, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, and have an excellent reputation for supporting children with special educational needs. Experience of teaching children with dyslexia, mild autism, ADHD etc. would be very good prior experience for a teacher wishing to join our team. Our Mission Statement commits us to meeting ‘all the needs of the individual learner’.

All Primary classrooms have data projectors, interactive whiteboards (SMART or Promethean) and access to the internet, and there is a strong commitment to integrating the teaching and use of ICT skills into all areas of the curriculum, where appropriate, with laptop carts, iPads and ICT labs bookable when required.

As well as their teaching, all teachers are also expected to contribute positively to both the school’s pastoral systems and the extra-curricular programme, offering an Extra-Curricular Activity that either supports or extends the students’ learning in their subject area, or from another area of personal interest.

St Andrews is committed to ensuring the safety of all our students, and expects all staff to share the same commitment (see our Child Protection Code of Conduct). No teacher will be appointed without at least two references, including one from the most recent employer, a ten year criminal record check and relevant regional Prohibition Order/DBS checks.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 12th March 2024 , with applications being reviewed as they are received. Please email [email protected] if you require any further information.
