Description
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the institution's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the senior leadership team and the Board of Trustees.
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making processes.
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.
- Manage budgeting processes, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards applicable to higher education institutions.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing internal controls to safeguard the organisation's assets.
- Develop and execute investment strategies to optimise the organisation's financial resources.
- Manage and monitor endowment funds and other institutional assets.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to understand and support their financial needs.
- Communicate complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner to non-financial stakeholders.
Profile
The successful Finance Director will have
- CCAB Qualification
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a senior financial management role within a higher educational setting.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and budgeting processes in the education sector.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
