Sustainability Manager | SYNETIQ an IAA company

Based at our Head Office in Doncaster, we are looking for an experienced Sustainability Manager to join our Clients & Marketing Team.

Overall Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of our sustainability action plan, ensuring sustainability is at the heart of everything we do driving our ambition to be a net zero carbon emissions business. This is a specialist role responsible for coordinating activities that will ultimately reduce the impact SYNETIQ has on the environment. Specific responsibilities include collaborating with functional leaders to embed environmental sustainability into policies and practices, leading projects and tracking their performance and carrying out training for our teams to embed a sustainability focused culture.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Develop and deliver the SYNETIQ sustainability strategy and action plan
• Manage sustainability budgets and spending
• Work with external consultants and partners to project manage a range of sustainability projects that lead to carbon reduction
• Introduce data management and collection systems to improve efficiency
• Deliver sustainability training and induction courses and overall educate our people and support culture and behaviour change
• Support the HSEQ team to achieve and maintain ISO50001 accreditation
• Engage with all SYNETIQ employees to harness all sustainability ideas and initiatives as part of a wider ESG strategy
• Work with each functional head to ensure sustainable thinking is embedded in teams and ways of working
• Work closely with the marketing team on internal and external comms to engage our colleagues, clients, customers, and communities
• Support our client team with ESG input for tenders
• Enter and win green awards
• Attend conferences, work with external agencies and partners to ensure we understand and are working to the latest legislation and thinking
• Help identify and secure funding that supports our sustainability focus and delivery
• Report annually (or more often where needed) on sustainability achievements and progress, and support colleagues with data requests for reporting purposes

Here’s what you bring:

• Strong understanding of sustainability principles and practices
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and certifications
