Job description

What you will do in your working day

• Under the clear guidance of the class teacher to implement structured learning activities and to assist individual/group of pupils to complete tasks
• To meet the needs of pupil(s) in relation to welfare, hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding and mobility
• Assist with movement around the school environment and during school activities
• Assist in the development of independent social skills
• Assist in the supervision of set tasks and integrated therapy for an individual/small group of pupils

The training you will be getting

Early Years Practitioner Level 2.

Functional skills in maths and English (if required). 

Full induction to work will be provided by the Head teacher, online e-learning via Astute on basic H & S modules will be required.  Safeguarding and Child Protection training will be provided. The apprentice will be allocated a mentor from our SLT to assist them through their apprenticeship and required training.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

At the end of the apprenticeship, you will be able to either continue your education moving to a level 3 qualification or apply for level 2 childcare posts.
