Project Support Youth Worker with previous experience of activity delivery in a related field, as well as working with people with learning support needs is required for a well-established and growing community-based charity.
FULL TRAINING PROVIDED - You will receive fully paid training supplementing any previously completed relevant training, with further development opportunities also available to progress your role through an optional Level 2 Youth Support Worker Certificate SALARY: £22,249 per annum + Benefits LOCATION: Guilford and the wider Surrey area JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week - Shifts comprising of weekday, daytime and evening activities, with occasional weekend shifts based upon activity delivery requirements. PLEASE NOTE: It is essential to have a Full UK driving licence for the role and sponsorship cannot be provided. JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Project Support Youth Worker with previous experience of activity delivery in a related field, as well as working with people with learning support needs. Working as the Project Support Youth Worker you will lead and deliver sessions whilst providing appropriate administrative support as part of the charity's daytime, evening, weekend and school holiday activities programme. This programme is dedicated to creating opportunities and supporting young people aged 16 and over with a learning disability and autism across Surrey so that they can live independent, meaningful lives and become more involved in their local community. DUTIES Your duties as a Project Support Youth Worker will include: • Support adults with learning disabilities, autism, or other support needs by working with the Head of A reason to Get Up programme and team to assist with the planning, developing, leading and supporting delivery of: o Meaningful daytime activities designed to support people learning new important life skills that can help them to find a satisfying vocation; and o Evening, weekend and holiday activities programme to deliver a varied programme of events and trips to encourage development of inclusion, social skills, promote physical and mental wellbeing of young people, this will include working flexibly during evenings and weekends • Provide flexible support on the programmes which will entail both inside and outdoor working • Work with the Head of A reason to Get Up programme to understand and support the young people’s goals • Provide personalised support to all young people accessing the charity’s services, recognising their individuality and independence • Promote inclusion and diversity by respecting individuals’ rights in relation to their gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion or other life choices or circumstances • Ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality services by recognising the related administration of the role is key • Keep clear, accurate and up-to-date records relating to young people, including: o Session plan evaluations o Risk assessments, support plans and records o Incidents or accidents o Young people’s involvement and outcomes o Safeguarding matters (reporting actual or potential issues promptly to the Head of Safeguarding and Compliance)• Work with young people, community delivery partners, staff members, and volunteers to ensure the smooth running and sustainability of all sessions and activities CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS • Pervious experience of activity delivery in a related field • Experience of safeguarding and risk assessments • Experience working with people with learning support needs • Full UK Driving Licence BENEFITS • 33 days annual leave (pro rata), inclusive of Bank HolidaysJob tags
