We are looking for an Electrical Investigational Technician to join our Product Assurance Team based at Wednesbury.
Salary for this role is between £30,432 and £42,087
Location - Based at our Wednesbury site – WS10 7XD
As an Electrical Investigational Technician you will be working within our Product Assurance Team to review, evaluate and investigate a variety of new, old and refurbished metering assets. You’ll also be providing technical support on a range of smart assets and products, playing a key role in ensuring that we provide equipment and solutions to our customers that comply with all technical, safety and quality regulations up to National Standards at all times.
You will also investigate any faults and failures with gas, electric and EV Charging meter assets, finding the root cause of any issues, carrying out hardware reviews and providing recommendations to our external partners. Your knowledge, expertise and findings in this role will help us to evaluate any new assets for their suitability to be included within E.ON’s portfolio whilst liaise with manufacturers to understand their products’ limitations and raise any faults that you find.
Actively support of the Smart Metering Project through smart product evaluation.
Demonstrate to and train E.ON Staff on metering solutions
Assist in the construction of equipment and test facilities to support production and field staff.
Evaluate electricity metering products including support communication devices.
Support in the development of Work Instructions.
Assist in the creation and application of tariff structures, field staff documentation and customer read sheets.
Represent and attend meetings on behalf of the Product Assurance Team.
Produce various technical data and reports to support other departments.
To be the point of contact for Asset defects, impacts and workarounds.
Be responsible for recommending asset maintenance and replacement policies
Be responsible for the delivery of reports to Asset & Logistics and other departments within defined timescales.
Provide statements on data accuracy linked to meters, hubs and IHD’s
An understanding of electronic product function testing, and a demonstrable ability to follow test scripts.
PC literate with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point knowledge.
A systematic and methodical approach to product evaluation, investigations, and testing.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey concepts and ideas effectively at all levels of seniority.
Self-motivated with the drive to succeed and create excellence in all aspects of the role.
Desirable
Ability to assemble and test electronic equipment at circuit board level.
Experience of working with/testing complex electronic devices.
An understanding of electronic product function testing, and a demonstrable ability to follow test scripts.
NVQ level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (or equivalent), 18th Edition and ideally 2391A.
Have knowledge or experience with EV chargers.
