What you will do in your working day

What you can expect:

• To join an experienced team working closely with skilled employees and managers to support you through your structured 18-month apprenticeship.
• To work across the Finance function, giving you the opportunity to learn about Ipsum and its breadth of capabilities and how you can develop your career here.
• To develop a sound working knowledge of how a busy Finance Shared Service Centre operates.
• To have the opportunity to learn and progress via a combination of formal training and assessments as well as on the job learning.

Duties will include:

• Processing payment runs.
• Opening purchase ledger accounts.
• Communication with external suppliers to reconcile statements.
• Processing purchase invoices and liaising with the business in the case of discrepancies.
• Allocating customer receipts and payments to suppliers.
• Preparing helpful analyses of costs and revenues.
• Producing cost centre reports.
• Assisting with the production of month end accounts.
• Preparing and posting accounting journals.
• Assisting the Finance Shared Service team with any other ad-hoc finance/administrative duties.

The training you will be getting

The apprenticeship end qualification is Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3.

Apprenticeship training is to be delivered on-site at First Intuition's Manchester city-centre offices. 

If necessary you will be enrolled onto the AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping and then the full AAT Level 3 Accounting qualification.

You'll also attend a series of skills workshops to help you build the soft skills you need to build your career in finance.

You'll be supported through your programme by a dedicated Skills and Development Coach who is there to ensure you get everything you need to succeed in your apprenticeship

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

For the right candidate there will be the opportunity to progress into roles such as Accounts Assistant or Assistant Financial Accountant and to continue studying to become a fully qualified accountant.
