Job description
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join our catering team at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. In this role you will be responsible for organizing the
preparation and presentation of meals service in line with the Service Level Agreements.
This is a great opportunity to work in a world leading Performing Arts School. To be successful in this role you will need to be able to build strong relationships with a client and of course students. You’ll need to be passionate about food and providing great service, strong attention to compliance, H&S, F&S and administration in your role.

What you’ll do:
- To organise presentation of all meal services.
- To present a smart and professional image at all times.
- To ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regards to customers special dietary requirements.
- To organise any special function as required and to the correct standard, some of which may occur outside of normal working hours.
- To establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and Client organisation.
- To ensure that Company’s accountancy, documentation and administration procedures are carried out to the laid down standard.
- Assist the Catering Manager with completion of the unit forecasts and monthly reporting to the client’s catering consultant
- Protect the company’s profit by delivering the Sodexo budget each month.
- Assist with generating the billing back up and maintain high quality records in line with the consultants’ templates
- Ensure cash, stock, debt and assets are correctly controlled
What you bring: - Strong level of literacy and numeracy
- Experienced business manager who has operated in a multi-site environment
- Experience of managing an overall budget with diverse functional components (i.e. catering, retail, and hospitality.)
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Clear and effective leadership style
- Ability to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions and approaches
- Strong ability to increase individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Able to demonstrate positive attitude to self-development; willingness to learn in role and identify own training needs as appropriate
- High level of self-motivation
- Strong ability to build professional partnerships and communicate at all levels, particularly at senior client levels
- Ability to set high standards, achievable through striving for continuous improvement
- Ability to act on own initiative and also to work effectively as part of a team
