Job description

The Cloud Architect is responsible for converting technical requirements into the architecture and design that will guide the operations and development teams.

You will be responsible for bridging the gaps between complex business problems and solutions in the cloud, developing a cloud first strategy and migration plan.

Other members of the technology team, including DevOps engineers and developers, will work with the you to ensure that the right technology or technologies are being built.

Design and develop cloud adoption plans, cloud infrastructure technology landscapes and deployment mechanisms.

Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into application architecture.

Collaborating with Senior/Exec leaders to ensure top level understanding and alignment on strategy.

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

Work with the DevOps Team to automate infrastructure and build pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment.

Work closely with key stakeholders to capture, analyse, and derive DevOps requirements.

Work with developers to identify necessary Azure resources.

A good understanding of the technology area they are in and have the ability to converse with their team and senior stakeholders around technology choices and designs.

The duties and responsibilities of the role are:

Essential Criteria
• Ability to deliver and lead on service and product improvement through standards and good practice principles.
• The ability to lead a team through continual improvement, using their experience to find better ways to operate and perform.
• Experience of Cloud Technologies and Principles both Public and Hybrid Cloud
• Experience of running large, complex and architectural teams
• Wider experience of running Operational and IT functions to provide greater context to their role and team.

Desirable Criteria
• Experience building and maintaining systems in Azure and AWS
• Experience with migrating datacenters workloads Azure and or AWS
• Experience creating and implementing ARM Cloud f ormation or Terraform templates
• Experience implementing Azure cloud solutions using ASM
• Experience leveraging version control systems to manage Infrastructure as code
• Experience defining and implement multi step CI CD workflows in Jenkins Azure DevOps CircleCI or GitFlow
• Familiarity with Server Datacenter virtualization technologies such as VMWare VMWare NSX and Hyper V
• Experience implementing solutions that meet today s Information Security requirements
• Experience configuring Azure networks to integrate with MPLS
• Experience with one or more of the following scripting languages
o PowerShell
o Bash
o Python
o JavaScript
