Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Until 31st May 2024
Pay Rate: £17.07 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Stirling FK7

Are you passionate about insurance and ready to make a difference? We're seeking a dynamic Insurance Officer to join our client's team immediately!

Duties:
  • Self-manage work, plan workloads, meet deadlines, and address insurance-related queries for the Council.
  • Use initiative to raise concerns and issues with Council Services to ensure valid insurance covers and practices.
  • Assist Council Services in ensuring adequate insurance for complex non-routine matters.
  • Provide reports/information to enable monitoring and review of insurance trends.
  • Classify claims and handle them appropriately, including liaison with insurers, claim handlers, and external parties.
  • Check, collate, and present information regarding insurance claims before passing to Council Services.
  • Obtain information regarding claimants' indebtedness to the Council prior to compensation being paid.
  • Liaise with insurance brokers and claims handlers to ensure timely progress on claims.
  • Ensure accuracy and validity of insurance policies and premiums.
  • Obtain relevant data/information for annual insurance policy renewal.
  • Ensure all insurance renewal data/information is up to date and accurate.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints and FOI enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Create, maintain, and update various spreadsheets for data control and analysis.
  • Enter data and produce accurate records and reports for internal and external agencies.
  • Act as key user/systems administrator for the insurance database (FIGTREE) and provide ongoing training.
  • Provide regular updates to the Senior Accountant on all insurance related matters.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
  • Good general education.
  • Background in insurance.
  • Competent in using computer software for recording and retrieving information.
  • Specialist/technical knowledge and expertise in insurance matters.
  • Interpersonal skills, including influencing and negotiation.
  • Discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work accurately, meet deadlines, and comply with legal requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar office environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
