The role As a Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be supporting a small, dedicated team, working directly with the Gunnery School and the Defence Support Group at the Armour Centre on the Bovington site.
Day to day, you’ll be providing maintenance and driving support on Main Battle Tanks, Warrior Infantry and Reconnaissance Fighting vehicles, as well as some Wheeled AFVs (Armoured Fighting Vehicles).
- Safely drive and control vehicles
- Operate AFV Special to Role (STR) Systems
- Carry out non-specific preparatory work on vehicles
- Carry out Level 1 maintenance and repair tasks as specified in publications for vehicle type. Work to be carried out in accordance with authorised procedures and to be completed to the highest possible standard
- Assist in collecting usage information and in carrying out regular checks of stores and equipment as requested
This is a full-time role based on site at our Bovington site.
Qualifications for the Driver (Armoured Fighting Vehicles)- Must have a full UK driving licence
- Military background and driving licence category’s C or H would be desirable.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
