General Manager - £50 60k + 10% Car Allowance

Working Environment:
This is a hybrid position that involves collaborating closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) while also engaging with our experienced field engineers. Expect a dynamic work setting that combines office-based coordination with on-site involvement. The role necessitates proactive interaction and liaison with clients/customers, both remotely and in face-to-face meetings, to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives.

Purpose of the Role/Role Overview :
The General Manager, Electrical Compliance Services at Sureserve Fire & Electrical is integral to steering the company in growth trajectory within electrical compliance. This role is responsible for providing commercial insight, contributing to the business's objectives, and leveraging opportunities for growth. The employee will collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), offering informed recommendations and strategies for successful implementation. The employee will also contribute to maintaining high-quality business practices and upholding Sureserve's commitment to excellence.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy Development: Collaborate with the SLT to devise and present a comprehensive commercial strategy highlighting future opportunities and market trends in the electrical sector.
- Objective Coordination: Work objectively to align business expectations with strategic objectives, ensuring coherence in approach and execution.
- Strategic Business Enhancement: Contribute to the enhancement of current opportunities within the existing and developing client/customer base, identifying avenues for expansion and growth.
- Overall Objective and Ownership: Have overall objective and ownership of works from inquiry to cash, including process.
- Colleague Upskilling and Knowledge Transfer: Take an active role in mentoring and upskilling both existing and new employees, including apprentices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the electrical team.
- Client-Centric Approach: Maintain the height of professionalism and diligence in all interactions, prioritizing client needs and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and statutory testing requirements.
- Identify and build relationships with key partners, win and deliver profitable business gaining significant market share.
- Personally lead large bids and ensure the Group Bids team have the information needed to successfully make other bids.
- Lead, build and maintain a strong pipeline to secure future profitable & sustainable growth.
- Develop a deep understanding of competitors and the industry, its products and services, opportunities and challenge – an impressive grasp of the competitive landscape.
Qualifications and Skills:
Possess relevant qualifications in electrotechnical or a related field, which include:
- 18th Edition - IET Wiring Regulations,
- City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations,
- Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within the electrical sector, demonstrating a strong track record of strategic planning and implementation.
- Demonstrable successful track record of commercial leadership enabling Business growth.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and emerging trends in the electrical compliance and testing sector.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and train team members, fostering a culture of growth and development within an organization.
