RESPONSIBILITIES This role will encompass supporting multiple ongoing projects, and General ROV Operations. The main responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of procedures and technical manuals to support the ongoing Submarine Rescue System project
- Review technical documentation written by others, eg: procedures, manuals, drawings & storyboards associated with the ongoing Submarine Rescue System project
- Preparation of Requirement Specifications
- Technical liaison with Client
- Monitor/supervise any activities assigned to Third Party Contractors, including but not limited to preparation of scope of work, site supervision, approval of deliverables and compliance with project targets.
- Attend site visits to coordinate and witness FAT & SIT testing and direct third party contractors
- Interface with other engineers to ensure that all work is carried out with the common target of optimising cost and schedule.
- To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
- To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with company policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with company specific procedures.
- To ensure his/ her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.
REQUIREMENTS
You should have the following experience:
- University or College Engineering education to BSc/BEng or higher. If not degree qualified in Engineering, eg: HND or HNC qualified, to have suitable experience, including analytical ability, that is equivalent thereto.
- Must have good communication ability at all levels and be capable and confident of supervising other disciplines, eg: drawing office and workshop personnel.
- Have extensive experience of offshore operations, in particular remote intervention operations with WROVs.
- Be experienced in the writing and preparation of technical documentation for remotely operated subsea equipment, ie: Equipment Operating Procedures and Technical Manuals.
- Have a solid understanding of Industry Standards, including ISO 13628-8 ‘Design and operation of subsea production systems – Part 8: Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) interfaces on subsea production systems.
- Have good knowledge of theory, design and operation of tooling systems.
- Have good knowledge of system-level engineering.
- It is expected that the successful candidate shall be capable of working without supervision, be capable of coordinating varied resources, shall contribute actively and shall have good problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in ROV operations technical support would be beneficial, however, this is not essential.
- Be prepared to work offsite, including overseas, for short periods of duration.
- Conversant in use of MicroSoft Office programs.
- A basic ability in the use of AutoCAD would be useful.
- A basic ability in the use of MathCAD would be useful.
- Hold current offshore (Oil & Gas UK & Norwegian) medical certification and (OPITO & OLF) survival certification.
