Job description

Team Manager required for work within the Permanence & Transition Team based in Plymouth. 37 hrs a week. Competitive rates of pay up to £48 ph. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements. Accommodation allowance offered to those working away from home.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager in the 11-25 Permanence Team. The team are looking for passionate individuals to make an impact on the lives of the children who are in care. The work is varied, and you will be working creatively to enable Social Workers and partner agencies to promote positive change within the child's family and family network. You will need to demonstrate excellent understanding of the need for permanence for young people and therefore candidates for this role need to have a strong background in Permanence and Transitions work.


The Team Manager will be responsible for managing a team of practitioners, whose duties include developing pathway plans, visiting children in care and care leavers, supporting young people and handling extremely complex cases. Maintaining close positive links with outside agencies and service providers within the community is a service priority.
The successful candidate will embed a high-performance culture by helping the team to continually develop their skills so that they can achieve the best outcomes for our children and their families. Through reflective supervision meetings with your team of social workers, you'll champion their personal and professional growth.
Alongside your role as a people manager, you will also be responsible for the allocation and oversight of children within your defined area, ensuring quality standards are maintained, as well as supporting social workers to identify risk and decide when to take protective action.
You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
