Job description
Responsible for helping scrub staff with setting up any specialised equipment required for performing laparoscopic and open gastrointestinal minor operating lists Advertising and ensuring the safe positioning of the patient for laparoscopic surgical intervention To assist the operating surgeon with cutting sutures and ligatures, insertion of drains, securing haemostasis and retracting tissues and organs as is required to conduct gastrointestinal surgery to the highest standard Correctly prepare, handle and operate endoscopic cameras and associated laparoscopic instrumentation. To understand the principles of wound healing and to perform skin closure by suture or clip technique.
