Communications Officer

Advert closes: Tuesday 2 April at 9am

Interview date  - To be agreed.

Come and work with us… you will enjoy every day and learn lots. Don’t worry if you have never worked in Local Government. What we need is your writing skills, as well as your ability to take a brief and work up communications quickly but in an engaging way.

I always say we do authentic communications at Elmbridge. We talk to people as people. That’s what you will do, on a range of subjects important to our Elmbridge community – check out our website newsroom - https://www.elmbridge.gov.uk/news

We believe in a thriving and sustainable Elmbridge and all our work contributes to that, as will you. We also have a transformation programme of key projects that will need your communications support and experience. Writing will be important – writing reports, statements, release, news articles, social content and web content, as will your ability to turn that writing to engaging social media assets, posters, adverts, newsletters etc.

You will also benefit from our excellent pension, as well as the ‘Thrive’ package of employee benefits and discounts with various local businesses and free employee parking.

We offer hybrid working arrangements, as well as your birthday off and we are closed between Christmas and New Year (no annual leave required).

Have a read through the job description and person specification- it is important you cover all aspects within your CV and covering statement.
