Job description
Solent Academies Trust is a family of five incredible special schools with three in Portsmouth, one in Compton, West Sussex, and one in Basingstoke. The Trust is actively growing, and approval was recently gained for a new Special Free School in Hampshire. Each of the schools have their individual identity and between them they support pupils aged 2-19 and with a wide range of needs. The Trust has 17 years’ experience in transforming the lives of its children and families and prides itself on harnessing the benefits of being a multi academy trust, working closely together to accelerate school improvement and share innovative practice to improve outcomes for all pupils and develop a strong learning community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Trust in the newly created role of Director of School Improvement. Working closely with the Chief Executive and members of the Strategic Senior Leader Team, you will implement key areas of the Trust Strategic Plan, leading trust wide continuous school improvement and make a significant contribution to trust wide learning, development and research strategy. An immediate priority will be supporting the newest academies to achieve outstanding outcomes and high standards across all aspects of the educational provision, support with the onboarding of new schools, and also contribute to key areas of free school project planning and implementation.
This is a rewarding and challenging role as it will require you to be adept at thinking strategically, capable of building links with and engaging and influencing a range of stakeholders as well as demonstrating credibility. You will also be an excellent leader of people, able to build high performing teams and a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, collaboration and partnerships.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding and experienced leader, ideally with Headship or Executive Headship experience, who is ambitious, energetic and keen to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
