Job description
I am currently working with an independent group of Opticians, located in the Leicester area who are now recruiting for a skilled and motivated Dispensing Optician to join a dedicated team. As a well-established opticians’ practice, they pride themselves on providing exceptional eye care services to valued clients. With a newly refitted facility in 2020, they offer a modern and comfortable environment for both staff and patients.
Must be able to speak Gujarati/Hindi as an additional language
Position: Dispensing Optician
Location: Leicester
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Working Hours: Tuesday to Friday (9:00 am – 5:30 pm) and Saturday (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
Carry out dispensing duties, including frame selection, check-in jobs and collections
As a lead Dispensing Optician, you will be able to choose the frames from suppliers to dispense
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients regarding their eyewear options
Collaborate with a small team of professionals, including two Optometrists and two Optical Assistants
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Utilize your expertise to contribute to the growth and success of the practice
Embrace Essilor expert practice standards
Must be able to speak Gujarati/Hindi as an additional language
GOC registered Dispensing Optician with relevant qualifications
Demonstrable experience and the confidence to dispensing a wide range of frames and lenses
Strong knowledge of optical products, lenses, and frames
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work effectively within a small team
Familiarity with Essilor products and practices is an advantage
Competitive salary, up to £30,000 per annum (pro-rata), based on experience and qualifications

28 days of annual leave (pro-rata), including bank holidays
GOC (General Optical Council) and ABDO (Association of British Dispensing Opticians) fees paid
