QPCS is a popular, oversubscribed mixed comprehensive academy trust of 1300 students. We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, ambitious and highly motivated Head of Mathematics, with a passion for developing learning and achievement. The successful candidate will lead a team of thirteen teachers and support the further development of this well-established faculty. we are committed to mixed-attainment teaching because we believe all students should be given the opportunity to aspire to the highest levels. For Y7-10, we have a well-developed scheme work and we are currently in the process of further adapting it to meet needs of our learners. In Y11, pupils are taught in sets and we follow the Edexcel Syllabus. Mathematics A level is by far the most popular A level in the school, and very successful, Further Mathematics A level is also very successful.

Applicants should possess: outstanding leadership skills; experience of coaching / mentoring to develop staff; strong management and communication skills; and experience of leadership and teamwork within a high performing department, including developing an inclusive and academic curriculum, and managing behaviour across a department. Most importantly you will be a highly effective classroom teacher who can demonstrate how you have raised the achievement of your students and managed behaviour.
