We are looking for a driven Body Electronics Lead Engineer with a proven track record of delivering EE components within the automotive industry. Working in the EE team, engaging with suppliers, interfacing with teams and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for delivery of a range of EE components and contribute to the development of people and processes.

Who and what will you be working with?

You will be working in the Electrical team, reporting to the EE Commodities Manager.

What will you be responsible for?

• Develop Body Electronics components from concept to production within agreed budget, resource & timing
• Provide coaching and leadership to fellow engineers
• Assist defining and implementing processes facilitating excellent delivery of commodities
• Create engineering targets and specifications.

• Supplier management to achieve engineering targets.
• Develop test plans, lead testing activity and resolve any issues.
• Commodities 3D management, BoM management, parts and tooling release
• Lead cross-functional team to deliver commodities to the programme requirements (quality, cost, mass, function and time).
• Ensure the commodity hardware and software supports the commodity feature plan at each gateway to support all interfacing system.

• Support virtual builds, ensuring concerns are contained and resolved in the required timeframe.
• Support EMC, Functional Safety and Cyber security analysis and target setting.
• Define requirements and specifications.
• Complete documentation for engineering approval.
• Lead SFMEA and align with suppliers

Who are we looking for?

To help achieve our goals, we need someone with/ who is:

• Excellent knowledge of English language, MS Office
• Able to work in start-up environment
• Extensive knowledge of EE automotive development. Systems specification, releasing, containments, gateways and sign off documentation.
• 5+ years of working in automotive EE development.
• Proven record of delivering Telematics, EE commodities and systems, including quality, cost, function, weight and timing.

• Able to communicate efficiently and effectively through all forms of communication, as well as present technical reports confidently
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Jama or other requirements management system is desirable

This person needs to:

• Be flexible, enthusiastic, and methodical individual, demonstrating a hands-on approach and able to work well under own initiative.  
• Be willing to travel as required in the UK and overseas. 

• Have valid Right to Work in the UK and the documentation to evidence this.
