Job description
Our client is a well known groundworks contractor for providing industry-leading civil engineering solutions to a variety of clients across the West Midlands, including: Bellway Homes, Countryside, Vistry Group, Redrow Homes. A forward-thinking who undertake contracts ranging from £1M to £10M focussed on the residential and major infrastructure sectors.
The company are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their successful and growing commercial team in the East Midlands. Reporting to a Commercial irector, you will be responsible for managing various projects from tender stage through to final account ensuring the smooth financial management of projects under your control.
Responsibilities:
Measurement of roads, sewers, groundworks
Producing bills of quantities using in house estimating software
Obtain sub-contractor quotations, placing of orders, monitoring payments
Conduct valuations / submit invoices / monitor payments received
Monitor drawing / spec changes, price variations / liaise with client
Liaise with construction team
General day to day running of commercial aspects of specific sites.
Mentor young team
Requirements:
BSc or Degree in Quantity Surveying (preferred but not essential)
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or a Senior Quantity Surveyor
10 years experience of working for a Residential Groundworks sub-contractor
Good technical and contractual knowledge
Computer literate
Highly motivated and keen to progress within the company
