As a new unitary council we are moving from 3 separate housing allocations schemes ( the rules around how we allocate available social housing) to a single scheme. Alongside this we are moving from 2 different ICT systems for performing allocations to a single system. So we are completing a re-registration of all customers under the new scheme in the new ICT system.

Training to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of the council’s new housing allocations scheme
Training to develop good understanding and ability to use our new housing allocations ICT solution – Open Housing (Capita)
User acceptance training tasks and test drills to test the new system and identify any faults for resolution
Receiving applications to the Council’s housing register and assessing these against the new scheme to determine if applicants are eligible & qualify to join the housing register and if they do what priority band they fit in
Completing direct lets – matching applicants with available properties directly for a period of time while the new ICT is tested and launched
Running shortlists once the new scheme and choice based lettings module is up & running to match highest priority applicants to the available property
Uploading advert details of available properties – if necessary
The majority of the work will be assessing housing applications as we are asking all applicants to re-apply so they can be assessed under the new scheme and inputted with clean data into the new ICT system.
