We are currently recruiting for a Software Engineer (.NET) to be a part of our General Insurance (GI) Platform team, to work towards the best technology and development practices among a large community of developers.
This role could be ideal for you, if you have a technical background using .NET, MS SQL and MVC/Razor Frameworks and have experience in the provision of platform as a service within cloud environments.
A bit about the job:
This opportunity will truly provide you with the prospect to enhance your skills! As a .NET Software Engineer, you will work alongside the existing Engineering Community as we embark on building the GI platform of the future.
There will be plenty of variety in this role, as you will have exposure across the full software development lifecycle working to support the delivery of good customer outcomes through all activities and deliverables. You will work in a squad to develop code and enhancements to our Bamboo platform, along with defining business requirements. We work in a collaborative approach, so working through challenges together and contributing your ideas is to drive innovation and adoption of latest technologies to enhance product development and performance is highly welcomed.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Well-versed in modern development practices including Agile, continuous deployments, DevOps and either Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, with experience developing across a wide variety of programming and scripting Languages (PowerShell, Terraform, ARM or equivalent programming experience). Experience in the configuration & management of CI/CD tooling, ideally using Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins
Experience working in a collaborative environment, to deliver innovative solutions in line with standards using good coding practices
Able to use technical skills to contribute to estimates/delivery plans on behalf of a Delivery team. With the ability to identify and mitigate risks related to integration, performance, and compatibility, help to diagnose problems, collaborating with the team to find solutions and implement corrective actions
Assist with solving problems and dealing with difficulties in line with standards, process and other guidelines within Aviva, applying technical knowledge and expertise and help with providing solutions for deficiencies in process, application configuration and operational procedure
Comfortable with building/maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders

Salary between national circa £40,000 and London circa £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
