Job description
Working within the Student Support Team, you will be the first point of contact for the department, looking after the departmental inbox and leading on providing a high-quality customer-focused reception service. You will welcome visitors to the reception desk, answer queries from staff, students and visitors, and will make bookings for all departmental events and travel. In addition, you will provide administrative support for a range of learning and teaching activities to support the smooth operation of the department, such as administration of unfair means procedures, student attendance monitoring and post-assessment processes, including checking marks and coordinating exam script viewings.
You will have previous administrative experience of working in a busy office environment, ideally within an education setting or similar organisation. You will have excellent IT skills and be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal and customer service skills, ideally with some experience of reception work. You will be comfortable working on your own and as part of a team and will have the ability to work under pressure while maintaining excellent accuracy and attention to detail. The Department of Computer Science offers three, four and five-year undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
