Job Description
- Perform assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and machinery according to blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues to determine the root cause and implement appropriate solutions.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop and implement improvements to mechanical systems and processes.
- Operate hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments, safely and effectively.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Document work activities, including maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment modifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
