Buyer 

Location: Kirkham, Lancashire, PR4 2DQ

Hybrid - after initial training period 

We’re recruiting for a Buyer to join our Procurement team, reporting into the Site Procurement Head you will be overseeing all purchasing activities, both direct and indirect. 
You’ll have experience in a similar role with previous purchasing experience and be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills with large data sets.

The Role: 
Overseeing all purchasing activities and keeping to schedule, in line with sales forecasts and ensuring that optimum stock is maintained and GMP principles are followed while maintaining maximum cost savings. 

• Handling purchasing for Direct & Indirect  
• Manage deliveries and custom clearance 
• Responsibility for day-to-day Procurement activities (placing and chasing orders, update orders on stock system, communicate regularly with all stakeholders and ensure paperwork is received with all supplier deliveries) 
• To ensure purchase orders are raised and circulated in a swift and efficient manner 
• Allocate the order to correct suppliers 
• To provide accurate, relevant, and timely information and reports as required
• Updating the OTD tracker daily and plastic tax data gathering tracker weekly with relevant data
• Assist the Procurement Manager to source and follow up on NPD materials

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role managing direct/ indirect recruitment. 
• Strong analytical skills 
• High level of attention to detail is critical due to dealing with large amounts of data 
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders across the business
• Ability to work under own initiative 
• Excellent computer skills, including proficient in the use of the Microsoft office suite such as, Word and Excel (Advanced Excel desirable but must understand basic formulas)
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Customs clearance knowledge – desirable

Salary: Up to £28,000 DOE.
