Our busy Integrated Pain Service is looking for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant who would like to develop their skills in chronic pain management. Are you;
• Passionate and driven about managing pain?
• Highly motivated, compassionate, committed to the provision of high-quality care and able to demonstrate an interest and experience in pain management.
• To keep the clinical area clean and tidy maintaining a safe environment.
• To adhere to Trust infection control procedures demonstrating an understanding of cross infection.
• To chaperone for patients or escort patients to other clinical departments under the direction of the Registered Nurse/Consultant.
• To support relatives under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
Communication
• To be effective, clear and accurate when using all forms of communication throughout the Trust environment.
• Welcome patients, visitors and relatives patients to the clinical area, providing assistance, support and information where required.
• Provide a high standard of support to patients and visitors who may have barriers to effective communication.
• To answer the telephone when required in a polite courteous manner and pass on enquiries to the Registered Nurse.
• Communicate effectively within the nursing team, multi-disciplinary team and other departments to ensure that patient care is well planned and coordinated.
• Use the Hospital Information technology system and other computer systems as required by the clinical area.
Housekeeping/Management
• Promote a professional, welcoming and uncluttered environment; keep all storage areas safe and clean and tidy.
• To share responsibility in the care, cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment in the clinical area.
• Ensure all waste and soiled linen is disposed of in line with Trust policy.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire.
We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network.
In February 2022 the significant progress that has been made at QEH was recognised by the Care Quality Commission who rated the Trust as ‘Good’ in all of the core services they inspected. They recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
